Hello Friends,

Welcome to the very first Found At The Market Dispatch.

Each week I track estate sales, markets, and interesting events happening around Central Texas so you don’t have to dig through a dozen Facebook groups to figure out what is actually worth checking out.

This week’s Dispatch covers 4 events across Brownwood and Coleman.

There is a promising indoor estate sale in Coleman, a farmers market, and a handmade bazaar here in Brownwood.

The only wildcard this weekend is the weather.

Weather Watch

Storms are expected to move through Central Texas this weekend.

Friday stays warm but scattered thunderstorms may develop later in the day. Saturday looks noticeably cooler with stronger chances of rain and possible storms. Sunday should calm down somewhat but may still bring cloudy skies and occasional showers.

Outdoor markets will likely still run, but it is smart to check organizer pages Saturday morning before heading out.

If the weather turns rough, the indoor estate sale in Coleman may end up being the safest stop on the list.

Treasure Routes

One of the advantages of treasure hunting around this part of Central Texas is that a good morning rarely involves just one stop. The towns between Brownwood and Coleman hide a surprising number of markets, estate sales, and antique shops if you know where to look.

Here are a few ways this weekend could unfold:

The Brownwood Bazaar Start

Begin the morning at the From Scratch Bazaar on Fisk Avenue in Brownwood. Local makers and artisans set up early, and the best handmade pieces tend to move quickly.

After browsing the booths, consider heading west toward Coleman. The drive itself can be part of the hunt.

The Coleman Estate Sale Run

If estate sales are your priority this weekend, set your sights on Coleman.

The Mad Hatters Estate Sale runs Friday and again Saturday morning, with the final three hours dropping to half price. Early arrivals usually see the widest selection, but the Saturday discount window can produce last minute surprises.

While in town, swing by the Coleman Farmers Market around the courthouse square. Sometimes the smaller markets have the most unique and gift-able finds!

The Santa Anna Detour

The road between Brownwood and Coleman passes directly through Santa Anna, a small town that quietly holds several antique and vintage shops clustered around its historic downtown.

If you have time during the drive, it is worth pulling over and taking a quick walk through the storefronts. Many collectors know that some of the best pieces in Central Texas show up in these small town shops that are easy to overlook when you are focused only on the larger events.

Central Texas Tip

When traveling between estate sales in this region, keep an eye on the smaller towns along the route. Places like Santa Anna often hide antique stores, resale shops, or informal weekend sales that never appear online.

Sometimes the best stop of the day is the one you did not plan.
