Hello Friends,
Welcome back to the hunt.
Every Thursday I track estate sales, markets, and interesting events happening around Central Texas so you do not have to dig through a dozen Facebook groups trying to figure out what is actually worth checking out.
This week’s Dispatch covers 10 events across Abilene, Brownwood, Coleman, Santa Anna, and Dublin, with activity happening on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15.
There are two promising indoor sales in Abilene this weekend, several market-style events in Brownwood, a rescue benefit garage sale in Coleman, a plant and shopping festival in Santa Anna, and a full St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Dublin.
Weather Watch
The weekend forecast looks excellent for getting out and exploring.
Friday brings warm sunshine across Central Texas with highs around 84° and very little chance of rain.
Saturday may be the best day of the weekend for outdoor events. Expect sunny skies and warm temperatures near 88°, which should make for comfortable browsing at markets and sales.
Sunday stays warm but turns a little breezy, with partly cloudy skies and winds picking up into the afternoon. Temperatures should still reach the low 80s, but the stronger wind may make lightweight outdoor setups a bit lively.

Overall, this looks like a very good weekend for estate sales, markets, and small town wandering.

Abilene Downsizing Sale
Saturday, March 14 & Sunday, March 15
8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
170 CR 332, Abilene, TX
Indoor event
This is the most intriguing stop on the list this week.
Downsizing sales out on county roads often mean decades of household items finally being cleared out of closets, barns, and garages. Those are the sales where older kitchenware, tools, and unexpected pieces sometimes show up table by table.
The listing simply says “mega nice items,” which is the kind of understated description that makes a sale even more interesting.
Abilene Estate Sale

8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
4673 Pamela, Abilene, TX
Indoor event
A professionally run estate sale featuring a wide mix of household items.
These sales tend to be more organized than typical yard sales, which makes it easier to browse room by room without worrying about missing something tucked in a corner.

10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Lehnis Railroad Museum
701 E. Adams St.

Free admission makes this a fun local outing even if you are just stopping by briefly while exploring town.
Shop Stop: Brownwood
Weekend sales are great, but every good treasure hunter knows to leave room for a shop stop.
True Treasures Thrift Shop
603 3rd St., Brownwood
Open Wednesday through Saturday, 11 AM – 6 PM
https://www.truetreasuresthrift.com/
True Treasures feels a little like stepping into a cabinet of curiosities. Shelves are filled with vintage glassware, old kitchen pieces, quirky collectibles, costume jewelry, and all sorts of little odds and ends that seem to have stories attached to them.
It’s an especially fun stop for crafters and artists who enjoy giving old pieces a second life. Between the vintage dishes, colorful glass, jewelry bits, and unusual décor, it’s the kind of place where you might walk in looking for inspiration and walk out with a handful of possibilities.
If you’re already making the rounds in Brownwood this weekend, it’s an easy detour that rewards a slow browse.

Know a great thrift, antique, or resale shop around Central Texas that deserves a stop on the route? Send it my way and it may appear in a future Dispatch.
Worth the Drive
Coleman Garage Sale
Saturday, March 14
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
301 E. Pecan St.
Coleman, TX
A benefit garage sale supporting Coleman Canine Collective rescue.
Benefit sales often gather donated items from several households, which can make the mix more varied than a typical garage sale.
Shop & Sprout Festival
Saturday, March 14
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Whiskey Lily
301 Wallis
Santa Anna, TX
This event combines Whiskey Lily’s first anniversary celebration with Sunshine Farm’s annual plant sale.
Expect shopping, plants, and a festive small town atmosphere.
Dublin St. Patrick’s Day Celebration
Saturday, March 14
Downtown Dublin
Celebration Park
Dublin, TX
The largest event on this week’s list.
The festival includes a parade, vendors, live music, food, and a car show. This one leans less farmer’s market and more full small town celebration.

Treasure Routes
Several towns on this week’s list sit within comfortable driving distance of each other, which makes it easy to string together a full morning of exploring.
The Abilene Estate Sale Run
If estate sales are your priority this weekend, start in Abilene. Two indoor sales are running both Saturday and Sunday, giving you a focused route with minimal driving.
The Brownwood Market Loop
Brownwood offers several events within the same city. You could easily visit Farmers Market Day, Market Days at The Hideout, and the Lehnis Railroad Museum event in one outing.
The Small Town Scenic Route
Coleman, Santa Anna, and Dublin make an interesting trio this weekend. The rescue garage sale, the Shop & Sprout Festival, and the St. Patrick’s celebration create a festive small town route.
Central Texas Tip
When traveling between sales in this region, keep an eye on smaller towns along the route.
Places like Santa Anna, Blanket, and Bangs often host informal weekend sales that never appear online. Sometimes the only advertisement is a cardboard sign and an arrow at the nearest intersection.

Keep an eye out. The best treasure of the day might be one turn off the road.
Collector’s Wanted Board
If you spot one of these items at a sale this weekend, send a quick photo and location and I will connect you with the collector.
🔎ISO: Vintage Cake Carriers
Looking for older metal or patterned plastic carriers.
🔎ISO: Texas Café Ware
