Hello Friends,

Welcome back to the hunt.

Every Thursday I track estate sales, markets, and interesting events happening around Central Texas so you do not have to dig through a dozen Facebook groups trying to figure out what is actually worth checking out.

This week’s Dispatch covers a full Saturday loop between Coleman, Early, and Brownwood, plus a Friday morning estate sale stop worth getting an early start for.

There is a classic lifetime accumulation estate sale in Coleman, several vendor markets across Brownwood, a major grand opening celebration in Early, and an evening courthouse market to close out the day.

If you plan it right, this is one of those weekends where you can make a full route from morning through sunset.

Weather Watch

This weekend brings a mix of cool air, cloud cover, and some wind, but overall still very workable conditions for getting out and exploring.

Friday looks mostly sunny but breezy, with highs around 70°. The Coleman estate sale should be comfortable for indoor browsing, though you may notice the wind if you are moving between stops.

Saturday turns cooler and cloudier, with highs near 64°. That is solid weather for market wandering, especially through the morning and early afternoon events in Brownwood and Early.

Sunday warms back up into the low 80s with mostly sunny skies, making it the best day of the weekend if you are planning any extra antiquing or shop stops after the main events wrap.

Overall, this is a good weekend for layered clothing and a flexible route between indoor sales and outdoor markets.

Estate Sale Dispatch

Rachel’s Pick of the Week

Coleman Estate Sale

Friday, March 27
8 AM – 2 PM
1101 W Walnut St, Coleman
Indoor event

This is the kind of estate sale that rewards slow browsing.

The listing mentions vintage furniture, Pyrex, cast iron, Coca Cola collectibles, clocks, lamps, and outdoor metal décor, which suggests a true full household clear out rather than a small curated sale.

Lifetime accumulation sales often hide the most interesting surprises in kitchen cabinets, garage shelving, and storage corners. Those are the places where older pieces tend to surface.

If you cannot make it Friday, the half price day runs Saturday morning from 8 to 11.

Half price windows like this are often where the best deals appear.

Market Watch

Several events are stacked close together in Brownwood and Early this Saturday, which makes it easy to build a flexible route depending on your interests.

Early Town Center Grand Opening & MLF Fishing Events

Saturday, March 28
7:30 AM – 11 PM
109 Kelcy Wy, Early
Outdoor event

This is the largest event on the list this weekend.

The Early Town Center grand opening includes a youth fishing derby, casting contests, student angler clinics, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, and family activities throughout the day.

There is also live music in the afternoon and evening, followed by a drone and fireworks show after sunset.

If you are planning a full day out, this one works well as either a starting point or a final evening stop.

Shaw’s Marketplace Artisan Market

Saturday, March 28
9 AM – 1 PM
508 N Center Ave, Brownwood
Outdoor event

Shaw’s Marketplace is shaping up to be one of the larger vendor gatherings in Brownwood so far this season.

Expect a strong mix of bakery tables, sourdough and kolaches, kettle corn, jams and fruit butters, salsa makers, handmade soaps and body products, sterling silver jewelry, plants, farm eggs, and a wide range of local makers bringing artwork, wood pieces, wreaths, and small handmade goods.

A solid anchor stop for starting a Saturday morning Brownwood route before heading toward the afternoon downtown events.

Pet Block Party

Saturday, March 28
9 AM – 2 PM
Brown County Museum of History
209 N Broadway St, Brownwood
Outdoor event

A relaxed community event with vendors, pet friendly activities, and photo opportunities.

If you enjoy markets with a neighborhood feel rather than a festival pace, this one makes a pleasant mid morning visit.

HPU Spring Family Reunion Festival

Saturday, March 28
1:30 – 4:30 PM
Howard Payne University
1000 Fisk St, Brownwood
Outdoor event

This campus event combines a scholarship fundraiser 5K with a free outdoor festival that includes live music, games, bounce houses, food booths, and handmade vendors.

Open to the public and designed for all ages.

A strong afternoon stop if you are already downtown for Art Stomp.

Art Stomp

Saturday, March 28
2 – 6 PM
Brownwood Art Association
215 Fisk Ave, Brownwood
Indoor event
Ticket required

One of the most creative events on the list this weekend.

Art Stomp turns downtown Brownwood into a walkable arts route with gallery stops, collaborative art activities, live jazz music, wine and beer tastings, and even a grape stomping experience.

Family friendly art stations and roaming performances are included throughout the afternoon.

Tickets are required for this event, with proceeds supporting youth programs through the Boys and Girls Club.

Shop Stop: Brownwood

Weekend routes are easier to build when there’s a place you can duck into between markets, and Red Brick Vintage makes a strong anchor stop for that kind of wandering day.

Housed inside a small red brick home, the shop is arranged as a multi-vendor space where each room shifts in character as you move through it. One corner might lean kitchen and farmhouse, another toys and signage, another glassware or seasonal décor. It feels less like browsing a storefront and more like moving room to room through a house that keeps revealing new shelves.

Shops like this tend to reward second passes. Inventory turns over booth by booth rather than all at once, which means something that wasn’t there last week might be waiting on the next visit.

If you’re already headed toward Shaw’s Marketplace or Art Stomp this weekend, it’s an easy addition to the Brownwood loop and a good place to look for the kind of small finds that don’t always show up at outdoor markets.

Worth the Drive

Coleman Evening Market

Saturday, March 28
5 – 8 PM
Coleman County Courthouse
100 W Live Oak St, Coleman
Outdoor event

A classic courthouse square evening market with vendors, food trucks, and live music.

Events like this tend to have a relaxed pace and make a good final stop after a day of estate sales and markets elsewhere in the region.

If you started your morning in Coleman at the estate sale, this makes a natural return visit to close out the day.

Each week this section highlights interesting items spotted at Central Texas sales.

For this week, the floor is open.

From Last Week’s Hunt

Last weekend’s treasure hunting turned up a few interesting finds across Central Texas.

We gathered a handful of the best discoveries, along with a short recap from the markets and sales around the region.

If you missed it, you can read the latest What We Found here.

Treasure Routes

This weekend’s events line up especially well for a relaxed Brownwood-centered route, with options to begin in Coleman or extend the evening into Early depending on how long you want to stay out.

The Coleman Early Start

Begin Friday morning at the Walnut Street estate sale while inventory is still fresh.

Return Saturday evening for the courthouse square market, which makes a natural closing stop after a day exploring nearby towns.

Two very different browsing experiences in the same place, spaced perfectly across the weekend.

The Brownwood Art Walk Loop

Start the morning at Shaw’s Marketplace, continue to the Pet Block Party near the museum district, then head toward Howard Payne University before finishing the afternoon at Art Stomp downtown.

Cooler cloud cover on Saturday should make this one of the most comfortable routes of the weekend, and everything sits within a compact driving area.

The Full Saturday Run

Begin the morning in Brownwood, spend the afternoon at Art Stomp, then continue west to Coleman for the evening courthouse market.

If you still have energy after sunset, the Early Town Center celebration continues into the night with live music and a drone light show.

This is the longest route on the list, but it offers the widest mix of estate sale hunting, vendor browsing, and festival atmosphere in a single day.

Bonus Strategy: The Half-Price Window

If bargain hunting is your priority, start Saturday morning at the Coleman estate sale during the half-price hours, then head east into Brownwood for the vendor markets and Art Stomp.

This is the strongest value route of the weekend.

Central Texas Tip

When several events cluster this tightly across neighboring towns, it is worth leaving time between stops for roadside signs.

Coleman and the surrounding smaller communities often have pop up yard sales that never appear online.

Sometimes the best find of the day is not on the map.

That’s it for this week.

If this Dispatch helped you plan your weekend route, feel free to forward it to a friend who enjoys the hunt.

Between the Coleman estate sale, Art Stomp downtown, and the evening courthouse market, this weekend has all the ingredients for an interesting loop. If you make it out to any of them, keep an eye out for the unexpected tables, the last boxes under the display racks, and the booths tucked just off the main path. Those are usually where the stories start.

And when the weekend winds down, watch for What We Found, where we share some of the most interesting discoveries spotted across Central Texas after the markets wrap up.

If you happen to come across something interesting while you’re out this weekend, send a photo and where you found it. It might show up in the next roundup.

Until the next hunt,
Rachel
